The Steep Incline

My Writing Journey Part 7

As I walk along my daily route, there is a particular stretch of the pathway that features a steep incline. I have been intrigued by the various ways people approach this challenging section. Some individuals choose to dismount their bikes and walk up the hill, while others struggle to make it up or end up walking the rest of the way. Some riders try to shift gears, but they select the wrong one, making the climb even more difficult. On the other hand, some people seem to effortlessly pedal up the incline without breaking a sweat, while others stand up and strain their way to the top. One day, I was surprised to see a young girl, who seemed frail, make it up the hill with ease, and an elderly woman who slowly but steadily made it to the top with her wheelie walker, even after a rainstorm.

This scene got me thinking about how I approach my writing. When faced with obstacles or challenges, I can choose to give up, struggle to make progress, or even abandon the project altogether. I may attempt to adjust my approach, but it may not be effective or may even hinder my progress. However, I can also approach my writing journey with ease and confidence, tackling challenges as they come.

Ultimately, however I approach my writing, it’s not about being right or wrong compared to others; it's about navigating my own journey at my own pace and in my unique way. Regardless of the approach I take, the key is to keep going with a willingness and determination to overcome any obstacles that come my way.
